Doug DeVos’ USA flagged Quantum Racing team are five times overall champions, circuit winners in 2013, 2014 2016, 2018 and 2022, now clear ahead of Azzurra’s triumphs in 2012, 2015, 2017 and 2019 and in the foreshortened 2021 season just one point behind champions Sled.
But since 2023 it has been all change for the Quantum Racing program. Rebranded Quantum Racing powered by American Magic, they are now focused on bringing in and training up young talent. Among the younger faces are Harry Melges IV who steers Quantum Racing powered by American Magic, Victor Diaz de Leon – like Melges in his second year on the program – is skipper and tactician. He is now partnered by Nevin Snow who he has known since college days and from the outset they have shown a great rapport. Evelyn Hull is brand new to navigating at this top level. And at the heart of the machine are long time team members like Greg Gendell on the bow, Matt Cassidy, etc etc.
Along with super coach James Lyne they run probably the most comprehensive data collection and performance analysis programme on the circuit, working to the benefit of team Vayu and Gladiator also as both are committed members of the Quantum programme this season.
