Interlodge are the crew of American husband and wife team owners Austin and Gwen Fragomen. The recently retired international lawyer Austin has long since been a massive enthusiast of the class and has owned five different TP52s. The Interlodge team raced on the circuit initially from 2013 to 2015, finishing fifth overall in a hotly contested 2013 season.
While an injury curtailed his competitive sailing for a while the team had largely confined their activities to racing on their home, East coast USA waters out of Newport RI. Gwen now also successfully campaigns a Botin 44.
When the opportunity arose late in 2020 to purchase the outstanding 2019 championship winning Azzurra, the Fragomens took the plunge and returned to race on the circuit again meeting back up with 52 SUPER SERIES owners and friends. In 2024 they were hosts to the fleet at the New York Yacht Club where Austin is a trustee.
They have an exceptionally strong, loyal core team which has been together for many years, some indeed since the inception of the programme. Trimmers include Dave Armitag, Jono Swain and Rod Dawson. Newport based Kiwi Cameron Appleton is tactician, Spain’s Carlos Roble joins as strategist while navigator is past world champion Ian Moore.
