Taking victory in 2024, winning by a single point on the last race of the final day of the season, Doug DeVos’ USA flagged Quantum Racing team are now six times overall champions, circuit winners in 2013, 2014 2016, 2018 and 2022 and 2024. They are now well clear ahead of Azzurra’s overall triumphs in 2012, 2015, 2017 and 2019.
2025 will again see the program focused on nurturing young American talent, giving up and coming sailors the chance to learn and compete at the highest level among some of the very best, most successful sailors in the world. Terry Hutchinson is back in 2025 as tactician. Owner-driver DeVos will return on board after serious America’s Cup commitments kept him from the circuit last year. He is expected to steer three regattas this season. Harry Melges IV will be on the helm at the other regattas. Victor Diaz de Leon, who skippered the team to the 2024 title sails as strategist alongside Hutchinson whilst Sara Stone moves back in the boat to a new role as navigator.
Under the watchful eye of super coach James Lyne they run probably the most comprehensive data collection and performance analysis programme on the circuit, working to the benefit of team Vayu and Gladiator also as both are committed members of the three boat Quantum programme this season.
