Quantum Racing won their second race in a row to extend their lead at the top of the leaderboard for the Menorca 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week. After a long delay waiting for the wind to fill, Race 6 got away in eight to 10kts of breeze after three failed attempts – one AP and two general recalls.
Platoon led at the first mark and through the leeward gate but erred left on the second upwind, ceding the lead to Quantum Racing.
Provezza took third and now lie second overall. Azzurra, second going in to the race, started modestly and then fouled Alegre in a port-starboard. Their resulting penalty dropped them to 11th, but the Italian-Argentine team recovered to seventh but now lie fourth overall going into the final day, Saturday.
