If anything, the breeze picked up for the second race of the Rolex TP52 World Championship, the NW’ly wind gusting to over 20kts to allow some spectacular downwind surfing conditions. Quantum Racing won the second race and so lead the title charge but only on countback with Azzurra, which finished second.
With a more even line because the pin end was given some bias, Luna Rossa started well, but Quantum Racing had the better position and opening. However, it was Sled that led around the top mark first having gone right early – they were rolled by Quantum Racing early on the run. Azzurra benefited on the last run when Alegre wiped out to take second and share the championship lead.
