While the French team on Paprec sailed to their first race win since Key West last year, the second race of the day was slightly bitter-sweet for Quantum Racing. Though they lost two places down the final run, their fourth place finish is enough to overhaul Platoon once more and top the overall leaderboard of the Sibenik 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week, which passed its midpoint today.
Quantum Racing’s fourth to Platoon’s seventh in Race 5 ensures the American-flagged team return to the top of the table.
Paprec Recyclage skippered by Stéphane Neve were able to extend down the last run ahead of the three-times champions who had their own battle to contain Azzurra and Platoon.
Azzurra got through to steal second, and Sled also slid into third, which sees them move up to third overall on the results table.
