Bronenosec won Race 6 of the Puerto Portals 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week regatta to move up to second overall, heading a three way tie. But a second place for Ergin Imre’s Provezza sees the Turkish-flagged crew take the regatta lead.
In 7-10kts of sea breeze on the Bay of Palma, Bronenosec were first to tack off from the committee boat end of the start line and worked the early right with Provezza. They were the top two boats at the first windward mark and were not challenged again.
From a bad start, late to the line Azzurra recovered well to take third gun after rounding the top mark in sixth. Quantum Racing were closed out at the windward mark and had to gybe all the way around to round in ninth place.
Rán Racing rounded the top in fourth but were passed by Azzurra, Platoon and Quantum Racing to finish seventh, dropping to fifth overall on the leaderboard. Sled drop from second to seventh overall.
