Takashi Okura’s Sled crew won a light wind Race 6 of the Miami Royal Cup, leading from the left side of the first upwind they remained well clear of Tony Langley’s sharp starting Gladiator all the way to the finish line. With Quantum Racing in fifth place and Azzurra scoring an eighth, the regatta lead of Azzurra is cut from 15 to ten points going into Saturday, the last day of competition.
Sled, with Hamish Pepper calling tactics, started well along with Gladiator towards the left end of the start line and were able to use the small, progressive left shift and slight wind pressure advantage to lead at the top mark ahead of Quantum Racing who also started towards the pin end of the line.
Provezza converted fifth at the top mark to a third place which sees Ergin Imre’s team lie second into the last day on 28pts, one point ahead of Platoon.
