Ergin Imre’s Provezza followed up their Race 3 win with a solid victory in Race 4 while Azzurra’ third place added to their Race 3 second place extends their lead at the top of the leaderboard for the TP52 World Championships.
Platoon looked to have done enough to lead around the windward mark but their layline was just too fine, and as they slowed to shoot the mark they let Bronenosec and Provezza roll them. Provezza were sharp on the gybe set and so took the lead on the downwind, leading Azzurra, Phoenix and Bronenosec through the gate. Provezza extended on the second beat to lead and conclude a red letter day for the Turkish flagged crew which has local Palma ace Naco Postigo navigating, Tony Rey calling tactics and British Olympian Andy Beadsworth steering.
