After four races in the BARCLAYS 52 SUPER SERIES at Rolex Capri Sailing Week four different teams have won races.
Italian favourites Azzurra won the second windward leeward race of today in the lightest conditions so far. They started well and were able to lead Gladiator around the top mark with Ran Racing third and Provezza fourth.
While the lead largely followed an established pattern, extending out to over 100 metres at one point, tactician Tony Rey called a good second beat, sniffing out extra wind pressure to the left, closer to the Capri island, which allowed Ergin Imre’s crew to finish second, their best result here so far.
Azzurra’s win sees them top the regatta standings on countback ahead of Jim Swartz Vesper which won the first race today which they complemented with a sixth in the second race. Quantum Racing got back to fourth from seventh at the leeward gate to lie third overall.
