Quantum Racing emerged victorious from one of the windiest and fastest coastal races yet on the 52 SUPER SERIES.
On the 31 mile passage upwind through bomb alley to round the rocky island of Spargi and return on a fast downwind to Porto Cervo, the lead was traded often between Azzurra and Quantum Racing. Around the outside of the island in 30kt gusts and big, steep seas there was nothing between them and the pair remained locked in an adrenalin pumping head to head duel all the way to the final turn. In the end Quantum Racing eased slightly ahead and were finally able to extend. Interlodge took third with Provezza fourth. Azzurra still lead the overall regatta standings.
