This is the decisive day for Azzurra. And so it is too for others. The home town team can deliver their first regatta win of the 52 SUPER SERIES as they go afloat today for two, or possibly three, windward-leeward races, the last of the 2013 season for the 52 fleet.
Azzurra have a three points lead over Quantum Racing and in turn are ten points clear of Rán Racing.
It is expected that the winds will be much lighter today, between eight and ten knots.
It is a good place to be going out with a small lead. And so we are hoping that everything will go well. But the winds are going to be tricky with a light Mistral and some Scirocco (SE-SW) on the edges, but more Mistral than Scirocco. We will make the fist race and then we will see how the points table is when it comes to Quantum Racing.
And in the overall standings the battle for fifth is still wide open. If Provezza finish with a good day they can take fifth, a bad day it might be seventh. Rio are in the frame too which kind of adds a little pressure to Keith Kilpatrick who is steering Rio for the final day in the absence of owner-driver Manouch Moshayedi.
