After a long, hot slow Wednesday with very light winds, Thursday at the Royal Cup Marina Ibiza looks to be slightly better. The coastal race has been postponed meantime and the intention is to run up to three races today.
Gladiator go on the water with a three points lead, but owner-helm Tony Langley is back in London today and so the regatta leading 52 will have a replacement helm for the day.
Chasing hard are Quantum Racing just three points behind. Spirits are high on board Quantum and the other American boats in the fleet, Rio and Interlodge, on July 4th.
Hopefully it will be a little bit better today, a bit more gradient breeze, the gradient should build a little more. But that might create the same problems in terms of a battle between the SE seabreeze and the NE gradient breeze. We might get one race in the N/NE breeze and then have a quiet bit and one race in late afternoon.
